Breaking Now: Active Death Investigation on Vinton Ave

Portsmouth, Ohio- Active death investigation on the 1900 block of Vinton Ave.

According to sources near the scene, early this morning, a male found a female (described as his ex-girlfriend) dead inside the home.

The male was taken for further questioning.

Due to some initial statements made by the male, and the location of the body, BCI was requested to assist.

While waiting for an extended time for BCI to arrive, Portsmouth PD stayed on the scene to preserve the integrity of the location. At one point, an observer stated, a Portsmouth Police officer utilized a lawn chair to ease the tension of the long wait.

At this time, BCI remains on the scene. We will update if Portsmouth PD issues a formal statement regarding this event.
