The South Shore Volunteer Fire Department paid tribute to its members for their service. And two members have a combined 100 years of service.
Firefighter Danny Adkins was honored for fifty-five years of service with the department while Firefighter Randy Collier was thanked for forty-five years of serving the citizens of South Shore. Both firefighters received service pins from Fire Chief Taylor.
Serving the community is a family tradition for the Taylors. His son Justin Taylor was honored with both his twenty-year service pin and an Ohio Valley Firefighters Association Lifetime pin. The pins were presented to Justin by his father.
The Department also remembered longtime Chairman, James “Jimbob” Osman with a memorial plaque that was presented to his son James Osman II.
Jim Timberlake was presented with a clock to thank him for twenty-five years of service as a trustee.
Top honors went to Firefighter Larry ‘Bull’ Yeager, who was presented with a clock and named Firefighter of the Year.
According to a statement from the Fire Department, “No one deserves it any more than Larry.”
