Jeffrey Allen Staten, 67, of Rosemount, died Thursday, November 28, 2019.
He was born April 25, 1952 in Portsmouth to the late Clarence and Kathleen (Kibby) Staten. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked for the railroad and the auto industry. He loved watching NASCAR and the NFL, was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan.
He also loved to build model cars, participate in the Demolition Derby, and was a member of the Portsmouth Eagles.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Enberg (John) of Wheelersburg, a brother, Greg Staten (Charlotte) of Vidor, TX, and a sister, Elaine Chaloux (Joe) of Granby, MA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Wyatt, Braden, and Samuel.
A Memorial Service will be 7:00 PM Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Pastor Nate Rowland officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be on Thursday from 6:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Sierra's Haven for new and used pets or to the funeral home to help offset the expenses.
Brittany Natasha Gambill
January 11, 1991 ~ November 29, 2019 (age 28)
She was born January 11, 1991 in Portsmouth to Sandy Clark and Robert Gambill. Brittany was a 2010 graduate of Wheelersburg High School and attended Shawnee State University. She worked as a waitress at Bob Evans and most recently was a home healthcare provider with Community Choice Healthcare. She enjoyed photography, interior design, being outdoors, and hiking trails. More than anything else, she loved being a mother.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Sandy Clark and Hubert Yelley; father, Robert Gambill; infant son, Nolan Kyle; fiancé, Ryan Kyle of Wheelersburg; nine brothers and sisters, Andrew Yelley of Sciotoville, Christopher Yelley of Portsmouth, Megan Clark of Wheelersburg, Tiffany Yelley of Mansfield, Wayne Gambill of Jackson, Robert Gambill of Portsmouth, Bobby (Stephanie) Gambill of Jackson, Amelia Gambill of Wheelersburg, Alex Gambill of Portsmouth; grandmothers, Shirley Clark (Donald Turvey) of Pedro, Betty Gambill of Lucasville; uncles, Mick Clark of Ironton, Rick Clark of Columbus; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Pastor Steve Mann officiating. Rodney Ray Johnson
May 18, 1969 ~ December 1, 2019 (age 50)
He was born May 18, 1969 in Portsmouth to Jesse and Connie (Gambill) Johnson. He was a 1987 graduate of Portsmouth High School and worked as a laborer in construction. Rodney loved heavy metal music, loved life, and had some crazy dance moves. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially Harleys, and most especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Connie (John) Pack of Sciotoville; son, Rodney R. Johnson, II of Winchester, KY; daughter, Alice L. Johnson of Portsmouth; sisters, Margaret Johnson (Tim Reeder) of Portsmouth and Jessica R. Johnson (Patrick Adkins, Jr.) of Sciotoville; grandchildren, Haylen Johnson Taylor, Rodney R. Johnson, III, Selena L Nicholas, Jaxsin Johnson; nieces and nephew, Marlena (Reed) Moore, Jessica (Billy) Eichenlaub, Brandon Johnson.

Kathleen Cooper Maynard, 75, of Pataskala passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Tuscany Gardens in Pataskala.
Born May 24, 1944 in New Boston, she was a daughter of the late Calvin F. and Leona Marie Shonkwiler Cooper. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, watching baseball and football and listening to music, especially Elvis. She participated in a creative writing club in addition to a euchre club. She is survived by two sons, Michael (Susie) Maynard of Blacklick, Douglas (Kaye) Maynard of Pataskala; one daughter, Tracie (Sandor) Vegh of Glouster; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Janet (Bernie) Twinam of Minford; two brothers, Wyatt (Mitzi) Cooper of Wheelersburg; Calvin Cooper of Tampa, Florida; brother-in-law, Walter Colley of Michigan, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Irma May Colley; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Joyce Cooper, and a sister-in-law, Mary Cooper.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Bernie Twinam officiating. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Rex Allen Burton, 59, of Minford, passed away peacefully Monday, December 2, 2019 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He was born February 7, 1960 in West Virginia, a son of the late Ervin and Shirley Burton. He is survived by his companion, Pam Howard; two step-sons, Keith (Jonda) Durham, Jason Durham; two step-daughters, Jennifer (Steve) Ruggles, Jacqueline “Jackie” Howard; three sisters; two brothers, and several step-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Summer TePas (1977 - 2019)
Summer Michele TePas, 42, of McDermott, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at Rosemount Pavillion.
She was born September 22, 1977, a daughter of the late Joe Torres and Cynthia Mays Adkins.
Summer was a homemaker and a 1995 Northwest High School graduate. She received a Bachelor of Science in History and a Bachelor of Science in International Relations, both Magna Cum Laude from Shawnee State University.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Anthony TePas, whom she married February 8, 2001 in Greenup Co., Kentucky; her daughter, Elena Kathryn Michelynn TePas at home; her brother, Michael (Nicole) Wermuth of Portsmouth; her sister, Crissie (Joshua) Nelson of Portsmouth; her grandmother, Faustina Torres of San Antonio; half brother John Torres of San Antonio; and half-sister Valerie Torres of San Antonio.
Summer was also preceded in death by her half brother Joseph Torres.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2019 in Garvin Cemetery with Dwayne Knittle officiating. Friends may call 11:30 to 1 p.m. Friday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
