Teresa June Bryant

Teresa June (Shepherd) Bryant, 62, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at her home.
She was born August 6, 1957 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Willie Gene Russell and Rebecca Juel Shepherd Davis. On January 23, 1987 she was united in marriage to David Michael Bryant who survives. Also surviving are a son, Zachary Taylor (Clarissa) Bryant of Waverly; a daughter, Justine Faith (Zack Bobst) Bryant of Waverly; two grandchildren, Skyler Taylor Bryant and Angel Bobst; three brothers, Vernon (Paris) Shepherd, Dennis Russell and Timothy Lee (Bobbie Fitch) Davis; three cousins, Gloria King, Kelly Thompson and David Shepherd; several nieces and nephews and two special friends, Eric Sheppard and Diane Travis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Corbet Bryant.
Teresa was a special education teacher for the Scioto Valley Local School District. She was also a foster parent to many children for over 20 years.

David Wayne Phillips, Jr.
September 13, 1978 ~ December 12, 2019 (age 41)
Age 41, of Portsmouth, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at SOMC in Portsmouth. He worked as an automobile mechanic and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, as well as tinkering and fixing anything mechanical.
David is survived by his mother, Violet Clark Phillips of Portsmouth; father, David (Patty) Phillips of Portsmouth; sister, Crystal (Dewey) Jenkins of Wheelersburg; special friend, Terri Allen of Portsmouth; and his beloved dog, Bud. He was preceded in death by a son, David Phillips, III.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2019 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME IN Sciotoville with Pastor Dan Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Age 28, of Columbus, passed away on December 11, 2019. She was born October 12, 1991 in Columbus to Timothy and Brenda (Jackson) Montgomery.
Jamie worked as a packager for Federal Express. In her spare time she enjoyed coloring, the outdoors and campfires, and was a Buckeye fan.
She is survived by her parents, Timothy and Brenda Montgomery of Columbus; brother, Daniel Montgomery of Columbus; sisters, Valerie Hagar of Beaver, Tracy Montgomery of Columbus, Aimie Cantley of Columbus.

Gilbert was a resident of Portsmouth, Ohio at the time of passing.
Gil was a member of Christians Beyond Church and a 1956 graduate of Franklin High School. Gilbert was also an Army veteran.

Eugene A. O'Dell

Eugene A. O’Dell, age 91, of Friendship died Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at SOMC Hospice.
He was born February 11, 1928 in Portsmouth to the late Luther B. and Della Ferrell Beekman O’Dell. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Gathergood O’Dell whom he met while stationed in England during World War II.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward O’Dell, and 2 sisters: Virginia Marie Nickel and Miriam Louise Webb.
Eugene was a World War II United States Air Force veteran. He was a brick mason, worked at Empire Detroit Steel and West End Electric. He and his brothers combined to build all their homes themselves with their own personal skills.
Eugene is survived by a daughter, Linda (George) Sroczynski, a grandson, Austin Tyler Sroczynski, 4 brothers: Lynn, Harold, Paul, and Ronald O’Dell, along with many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 1:15 PM Monday, December 16, 2019 at Friendship Cemetery with military graveside rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the Roger W. Myrna Linda Fine, 79, of Rush, KY, died Tuesday December 10, 2019 at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY.
She was born June 3, 1940 in Newark, NJ, a daughter of the late David Haas and Fay Sorin Haas. She was a former unit secretary at King's Daughters Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Fine; one daughter, Sherry Adkins of South Pasadena, FL; two sons, David (Cristy) Fine of Milton, GA, and Larry Fine of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steven) Brown, Kimberly (Matthew) Jarrell, Brandon Fine and Joshua Fine; great grandchildren, Adalee Brown, Olivia Jarrell and Zoe Jarrell; and one sister, Marlene (Steve) Lipman.

Frances June Hood

Frances June Hood, 89, of Ormond Beach, FL, formerly of Sciotoville, died on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at home. Born on June 30, 1930 in Sciotoville, she was a daughter of the late Earl Hood and Bertha Feirl Hood and was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Sciotoville.
Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Willard Hood, Lewis “Poot” Hood, Raymond Hood, Donald Hood and Joseph Hood; and a sister, Savilla “Sis” Hood.
Surviving are many nieces and nephews, whom she helped mother; a special great nephew, Eric Castle and a special friend of 60 years, Kate Towey.
Arrangements are pending at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE.

Flossie Howard, 58 of West Portsmouth died peacefully Monday, December 9, 2019 at SOMC Hospice.
She was born December 24, 1960 in Hocking County to the late Jimmie Robert Perry and JoAnne White Smith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Shirley Covote. She was a member of Grace Chapel Church.
Flossie is survived by her husband, Jimmie Lee Howard whom she married September 18, 1977, stepfather, Thomas Smith, 2 daughters; Becky Anne Howard and Jamie Leigh Howard, a grandson, Cameron Levi Howard, a brother, Robert (Lisa) Perry, 3 sisters; Sylvia (Randy) Aims, Debra (Harold) Crawford, and June (Matt) Blair, a brother-in-law, Dan Covote, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with CJ Blevins officiating and interment in Howard Family Cemetery.
