Teacher, Laura Snyder, revealed on Facebook that some students had, allegedly, made fun of the hand-drawn logo one student had pinned to his orange t-shirt so he could support his team on College Colors Day at Altamonte Elementary School in Alamonte Springs, near Orlando.
“I am aware that it’s not the fanciest sign but this kid used the resources he had available to him to participate in a spirit day … I plan to get him a [real] University of Tennessee shirt but was wondering if anyone has any connections to the University of Tennessee?”, Ms Snyder posted on Facebook.
This reached the university’s senior leadership team who decided to mail the boy a whole collection of their Swag.
The package included a shirt, jersey, backpack, tote bag, notebook, folder, baseball cap, and giant sports hand, and more.
The box of memorabilia was so impressive, the student decided to share. He even shared with the very students that bullied him.
“I am overwhelmed by the love I feel from this extended community and the pride I feel for my son", the mother said in a statement posted to Facebook.
One step further, the University of Tennessee has made a T-shirt in his honor and to promote Anti-Bullying.
This is the shirt they made.
It is available as on the
