A former Scioto County judge alleged to have been part of a sex trafficking ring and whose cases are under review by state officials crashed his truck and RV trailer late Wednesday night near Dayton.
Miami Township Police reported that William Marshall, who retired last year after being the subject of a state ethics investigation, lost control of his pickup sometime after 11 p.m., causing Interstate 75 to close briefly.
Marshall also has been accused of being a severe alcoholic by his family, which tried to take control of his personal and financial affairs earlier this year.
That prompted the Ohio Public Defender's Office to launch an investigation into as many as 2,700 of Marshall's previous criminal cases, with possible appeals on the way.
Marshall was charged with operating without reasonable control. He did not return phone messages left Thursday.
